Murli hit’s the bull’s-eye

He came, he played, he conquered and left us all astonished! Muttiah Muralitharan, the spin wizard has broken all records and created an insurmountable new one instead – 800 wickets in test cricket. The legendary bowler’s retirement from international test cricket came at the peak of his career. Ever since he started playing his first international cricket in 1992, Murali has never looked back. Murali was just 8 wickets away from creating the record when he played his last test against India. The Indian batsmen who fell prey to Murali’s magic were Tendulkar, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Ojha and Mithun in the first inning and the next one had Yuviraj, Bhajji and Ojha. Being the highest wicket-taker in both – test and international – form of the game, Murali has fruitfully gained 800 and 515 wickets, respectively. He also holds the record of being the only player to take 1,000 wickets, combined in both form of the game. He maintains the track record of the 67th 5-wicket haul in an innings in test
